If after initially linking the database you get the following error:

Then, while installing the Office Tools Professional SQL instance, the database mounted as "read only". Fixing this is easy, just follow these few steps.
- First we need to check to see if SQL server Management Studio is installed. Go to Start > All Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 2005 > Microsoft SQL server Management Studio Express. If it is there, skip to step 3. If it is not installed, you will need to download it from the Microsoft website. You can obtain Management Studio Express for free here.
- Run the SQL server Management Studio installer on the computer where the database was initially installed.
- Go to Start > All Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 2005 > Microsoft SQL server Management Studio Express.
- On open the Connect to Server screen will appear, click "Connect".
- On the left hand side of the screen you will see 5 folders listed under the north40systems instance. Expand the Databases folder to find the OfficeToolsPro database file.
- Right click on the OfficeToolsPro database and then go to Tasks > Detach...
- Under where it says Databases to detach: make sure that Drop Connections is checked, Update Statistics is not checked, and Keep Full Text Catalogs is checked. Then click OK
- Right click on the Databases folder and select "Attach..."

- Click the "Add..." button and the path of your database should still be correct, select the OfficeToolsPro.mdf and click OK, then click OK again.

- Now you will be back at the main screen in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express. On the left hand side of the screen you will see 5 folders listed under the north40systems instance. Expand the Databases folder to find the newly attached OfficeToolsPro database file. It should no longer be listed as Read-Only. You can now reopen Office Tools Professional and re-link your database; this should fix the error you'd encountered before. If this does not fix your problem, please call our technical support department. You can reach them at (661) 951-9900.
